Square Inch Price

Edge to Edge Designs

I have separated each of my available patterns into 3 different tiers based on the complexity of the designs and the time required to quilt them.

Each tier has a different price per square inch.

Tier 1:  $0.018

Tier 2: $0.02

Tier 3: $0.022

For an estimate of your total costs multiply your quilts width in inches by the length in inches and then multiply that by the price of the pattern.

Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches and you have chosen a pattern in tier 2.

 60 x 80 = 4800 x .02 = $96 + the cost of thread.

You can see my available designs here.

I have a minimum quilting charge of $45. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $45 minimum.

Custom Quilting

Custom quilting starts at $.4 per sq inch for designs that are less dense and $.55 per sq in for more complex designs.

Prices can vary widely from quilt to quilt and are subject to change depending on a number of factors, including the density and complexity of the designs.

The minimum charge for custom quilting is $350.

Batting

I use and stock my favorite Quilters Dream batting in the 80/20 cotton/polyester blend, and in the 100% cotton.

Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.

I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders.  I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 6" margin) and charge per inch.

For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I will cut 66" of the batting of your choice.
66" of 100% Select Dream Cotton @ $0.5/in = $33.00
66" of Dream 80/20 cotton/poly blend @ $0.38/in = $25.08

Thread

I use Glide 40wt. thread in a variety of colors.

Thread is charged by the bobbin and is $2.50 a bobbin.  The average quilt uses 2-3 bobbins but this varies depending on the density of the design. Some quilts may need more or less bobbins.

My personal style is to use neutral colors that match the lighter colors in your quilt, but I have a large selection of colors and I am happy to use the colors that you choose! Let me know if you have a preference on thread color.

Shipping

Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in Utah, USA, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of sack or bag to protect against possible moisture in transit and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly.

Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via USPS Priority mail (using flat rate when possible/economical). Priority mail comes with $50 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it.

A full binding includes cutting the fabric, assembling the binding strips, attaching the binding to the front of the quilt by machine and finishing it on the front by hand. $.25 per linear inch

Partial binding includes assembling the binding strips and attaching them to the back of the quilt by machine, but leaving the hand stitching for you to complete at a later time.  $0.18 per linear inch.
